A journey through art in Emilia Romagna between Parma and Piacenza. The itinerary takes us from the Appennines to the Pianura Padana, across cities and small urban centres, imposing churches and ancient residences. From the Cathedral and the Baptistery of Parma, close to the border with Tuscany, to Berceto, close to the border with Lombardia, and to Bobbio, Busseto, Colorno, Fidenza, Fornovo di Taro. The itinerary investigates the Romanic season and the art of Benedetto Antelami, art in the neoclassical age, Sixteenth century art, Parmigianino, and Correggio, Seventeenth century art and Lanfranco, Guido Reni, Guercino. We encounter castles with crenelated parapets such as in Torrechiara, residences deep in the woods, small diocese museums and extraordinary collections, like the Magnani-Rocca in Mamiano di Traversetolo.
