Who is the mysterious artists, “Zorzi di Castelfranco”, a genius of the Renaissance, better known as Giorgione? We will look at his artistic career, his works, the clients, the cultural context. The documentary tries to answer these questions, by admiring the works of Giogione, from the earl Castelfranco Madonna, from The Three Philosophers housed in Vienna, to the famous painting The Tempest. We will look at the major paintings by the artist, together with some works that have never been displayed before. We will try to understand these works together with the context they were created in, the times the artist lived in, and also considering the other arts, from poetry to music: in fact Giorgione, as is told by Vasari, “sang and played divinely”. We will listen to some music composed in that period, played live by lutist Terrel Stone, accompanied by a singer and a flautist. The Ensamble was awarded the Premio Silvia Dell’Orso in 2014 for the best work for the dissemination of cultural heritage.
