The portrait of a collector, count Giuseppe Panza, who passed away in April 2010. This is the story of his villa, a building erected in the 18th century in Biumo, in the hills in the Varese area, with its seventy bedrooms, the stables, and a magnificent park. Count Panza was passionate about American contemporary art; the documentary tell the story of how he invited the most renown contemporary artists to decorate the rooms of the villa with their work. In the rooms of the old villa abstract monochrome paintings hang on the walls, in stylistic harmony with the precious furniture from the 16th – 19th centuries. More than one hundred works by contemporary artists are on show, alongside an impressive collection of African and pre-Colombian art.
