It’s impossible to look at the David by Michelangelo without thinking of Florence, the city that witnessed the birth of the artist, that saw him take on battles and also political fights.

The place where Michelangelo left works of art that have become icons of the city. From the very start, from the first attempts, when he was only 16 or 17 years old, his talent was evident.

The documentary retraces the artist’s Florentine experiences from the first sculptures to the Domi Tondo, from the grand interior architecture (the Medici Chapels, the Laurentian Library), to the Deposition in the Opera del Duomo Museum, where the artists portrays himself, now an old man, as Nicodemus.
